Aluminum Sheet and Aluminum Plate For Your Unique Projects and Applications

Aluminum sheet metal comes in a variety of thicknesses and weights in many different grades that can be used for commercial applications that require strength, corrosion resistance and machinability, as well as non-heat treatable grades when formability and weldability are priorities. Popular applications for aluminum sheet include fuel tanks, roofing, boat hulls and automobile parts. Available grades include 5052, 5086, 5454, 6061 and 3003.

We stock plate and coil in most standard thicknesses and alloys. All sheet and plate thicknesses and weights in this catalog are based on ANSI standard thickness. The weights shown are for an alloy with density of 0.100 pound per cubic inch.

Where weights of aluminum sheet and plate have been computed on the basis of 0.100 pound per cubic inch, as shown in the table at left, the weights for specific alloys can be determined by means of the conversion factors listed in the table at right.

WEIGHT CONVERSION FACTORS FOR ALUMINUM ALLOYS

Example: find the weight per square foot of 0.125 sheet in alloy 6061. The weight in lbs / sqft. listed for this thickness on the table at left is 1.80 pounds. Multiplying the weight by the factor 0.98 given above for 6061 alloy gives 1.76 lbs / sq. ft.
